MATHS CLUB

2017

Club Patrons: Mrs. Magadlela & Mr. Sibanda

Number of students: 28 (Form 3s and 4s)

Learning Base: Maths Centre

This club is designed to make Mathematics more interesting and teaches students how to apply Maths skills in real life situations. All students take turns to solve Maths problems on the board and to assist each other in improving their own skills. This group effort leads to more self-confidence as individual problems are tackled.

Maths is more fun through games, puzzles and really tricky problems that may take the combined effort of the whole class to figure out. The Maths Centre further enhances the learning environment as they are surrounded by numbers, literally, to get the mind focused on the task ahead.

“Mathematics is mental gymnastics,” Mrs. Magadlela says. The Maths Club is an interesting and fun way to learn Mathematics, instead of another boring class lesson.
